So the skin will continue without any new techniques or colours being introduced but as i step on to a different material i thought i’d offer some quick thoughts on painting white.
Like all things painted on my models each colour is based upon the overall colour scheme which means it might not be a true version of the colour represented. The white in this case is shades of orange, there is barely any white visible. The overall scheme for the hulk, in this case, is green purple and orange. The skin is the main thing so green is the main colour, opposite green on the colour wheel is red,,,but I’m trying to move away from complimentary schemes and into split complimentary schemes, therefore, either side of red is purple and orange,,,hence the triangle scheme of:
Green – purple
– orange
The white starts of as andrea 2nd light from the skin colour set, its a bit like the old GW elf flesh but i added a touch of fluro orange. This is then shaded with VMC English Uniform and VMC Dark Sea Blue. The highlights are then done with pure white and finally i glaze towards the shadows, first with some orange ink (a mix of windsor and newton sunshine yellow and GW Ogryn Flesh) and then with some blue ink.
